May the tranquil blue hues soothe your restless mind.
When the waves flow, the sea greets the land and splashes over the sand. Then away it goes.
From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, someone is present in every circumstance of your life.
We are all like busy bees. Sometimes we need a break, just to remember the past and hope for a peaceful world.
A tribute to the famous poem ‘A Red, Red Rose’ of Robert Burns. Instead of the passionate red roses, do these pinkish orange ones remind you of someone in the past?
Dancing in the wind, the lively lavenders bring you joy and calmness.
On a sunny afternoon when I saw this sunflower standing upright facing the sun, I was encouraged. It is not easy to keep looking at the bright side. But at least I can choose to be an upright person.
What do we truly need? Very often we are anxious about what we want rather than what we need. God feeds the birds and clothes the lilies beautifully. We are more valuable than them, so we trust God provides. But hold on. Our Lord teaches us not to worry about ourselves. It is not because God would provide what we want, but we need to turn our eyes, our heart and our mind to Him.
Last spring we planted a breed of calendula called Snow Princess. The flowers are pale yellow, almost white. The blooms are surprisingly long lasting. They actually endure the frosty winter. Princess can be strong, and resilient.
What makes a better day than gazing at the clouds and patches of green on this beautiful island? (Walking the shelly beaches, perhaps?)
Life is a struggle between light and darkness. When we say the Lord's Prayer 'give us today our daily bread', perhaps it is not about the daily provision of food, but the real bread of life who leads us through the struggle.
Are clouds white, cream, orange, pink, or purple or grey? Are they thick and fluffy, or thin and wispy? They can appear all these at the same time.
In the summer of 2021, I had a trip to Shapinsay, Scotland. At the coast, sea waves whispered their calming sound while quietly sweeping on and off the beach. Do you see these calming whispers in the paintings?
When looking up at the sky, do you usually look at the sky or the clouds?
Why sardines? I did this painting after a trip to Portugal, where tinned sardines are one of the most popular souvenirs. Maybe I intend to free them from the tin and bring them back to life?
The sounds of the forest, the gentle flowing of water and the scent of fresh air made this ambient walk a memorable experience. This small painting captures one of the best moments.
It was winter when I did this painting. Early sunset, flowing waves, gentle chill breeze. This is tranquility in motion.
